Connecting at the SCRHA 2025 Education Conference & Expo
Strategic Sanitation Services was pleased to participate in the 2025 Southern California Rental Housing Association (SCRHA) Education Conference and Expo. The event provided an opportunity to engage with community managers, maintenance teams and other industry professionals throughout the San Diego region. Our team appreciated the chance to have meaningful, in-person conversations about the ongoing challenges communities face and the need for consistent, high-quality trash management solutions.
Manager Feedback: Common Trash Concerns
A recurring topic during the SCRHA expo was the growing concern over bulky item accumulation. Many managers shared that large, uncollected items are a visual issue and a burden for on-site teams to address. Strategic’s recurring bulk item pick-up service stood out as a potential solution, offering scheduled removals that help communities stay ahead of clutter, minimize resident complaints and ease the strain on property maintenance staff.
Other common concerns included the need for consistent trash management to maintain cleaner enclosures and prevent overflow. Several managers also expressed frustration with rising overage and contamination fees, highlighting the need for solutions that improve waste compliance and streamline disposal practices.
Looking Ahead
The SCRHA Education Conference and Expo continues to be a valuable space for property management professionals to exchange insights, share challenges and explore practical solutions. This year’s discussions underscored a strong interest in more reliable service models—particularly for bulky item removal, which remains a pressing concern for many communities. Events like this play an important role in advancing conversations around operational efficiency and advancing collaboration across the rental housing industry. We’ll see you next year, SCRHA expo!
